Design Course Philosophy
Graphic design is a form of visual communication that combines images, text and illustrations to convey information. Our Design courses focus on the technical skills and software used by industry professionals. From typography, to color theory, to creative layout possibilities, we teach you how to deliver powerful messages that connect with your audience. Taught by our faculty of industry professionals, all courses are conducted one-on-one in Bosse’s professional studios where students receive hands-on training on the latest technology that fuels the digital world. Bosse Tech courses are held inside Bosse Studios – a world class digital media production company that has worked with organizations & companies like Paramount Pictures, Disney Studios, Prana Studios, the New England Patriots & Samsung; and TV shows such as Ocean Treks with Jeff Corwin & Hawaii Five-O. Graphic Design 101
Learn the theory and techniques that go into creating professional artwork.
In Graphic Design 101, you will establish a professional eye for critically viewing graphic design pieces. Within this scope, you will develop a solid foundation of understanding to help create your own, assorted visual works. This course familiarizes and defines terms used widely in the industry, relating them to modern applications. By providing a historical background in conjunction with critical analysis of the graphic arts, you will vastly improve your eye and judgment.

Graphic Design 102
Explore the creative image editing tools in Photoshop.
Graphic Design 102 solely focuses on Adobe’s incredible photo editing program, Photoshop, and its impact on graphic design. Photoshop is an extremely vital tool when constructing graphic design works due to its ability to crop and resize images. By explaining these as well as other tools within the program, the student will improve their art immensely.

Web Design 101
Learn the fundamentals of HTML and CSS.
In Web Design 101 you will learn the fundamentals of HTML – the core language used to fuel the worldwide web. You will learn to understand the structure of an HTML document, and learn basics such as how to format text, create links and display images. You will learn how to style your HTML with CSS, and explore different ways to apply those styles through the creation of inline styles, using the style element and the building of external style sheets.

Web Design 102
Expand your knowledge of HTML & CSS.
In Web Design 102 you’ll learn how to create engaging websites with modern designs and layouts. Students will further their knowledge of HTML, and explore more advanced CSS concepts such as selectors, floats, forms, layouts & more.

Graphic Design 201
Discover the comprehensive design possibilities of Illustrator.
In Graphic Design 201, you will learn the creative process of constructing assorted forms of print and web media from initial drafts to final result as in Adobe’s Illustrator. The intention of this course is to not only expand the way you perceive media, but also to highlight how it is built from start to finish. By introducing Illustrator, you will begin to have a full understanding of how to construct an acceptable layout.

Graphic Design 202 primarily focuses on Adobe’s text and assembly program, InDesign, in conjunction with Photoshop and Illustrator. You will learn the process of assembling these three distinct forms of media to create professional layouts and unique designs. This course refines and polishes text elements of design projects by incorporating different options that other programs don’t offer. The student will walk away learning not only how to manipulate text more efficiently, but also how to bring other elements into this program to take advantage of it.

Directed Portfolio 302

Create a professional portfolio that features your video production skills.
The Directed Portfolio is offered as the final course in our Masters and Multimedia track. The goal of the course is for students to create a professional portfolio of their work to advertise to potential clients and employers. The final elements of the portfolio will be decided upon jointly by the teacher & student, and will be based upon the student’s overall goals. Students are encouraged to choose projects that feature their strengths, yet display diversity. Students will have access to our studios vast resources to complete their final projects. Upon completion of this course, students will have a professional portfolio of their work to present to potential employers and clients via various social media platforms.
